Claire is always amazed when we get on the topic of when I was her age. Today she wanted to know which princesses were my favorite. I explained that I did not have access to "videos" because there were none. The only princesses I knew of came from BOOKS. Imagine that. "Your life was terrible Mom. No cable, no VHS and DVD's. ALL of your phones had cords too. Your childhood stinks Ma. How did you live without movies?" I went on to explain that we lived in a house that was 900 square feet, had one car (Dad rode the RTS bus from North Chili to Midtown Plaza each day) and how my Ma knew within $1 how much the groceries in the cart would total because she paid with cash! Perhaps another day I'll tell her about how we had bacon each Sunday after church. My dad saved the bacon grease and cooked with it all week. Or how I managed to survive my whole freshman year of high school with 3 uniforms. Another time....

Every little girl wants to have beautiful long hair. Gone are the days when a towel or shirt would do the trick. Thanks alot Hannah Montana!
