Recently someone was asking me questions about gastric bypass. I'm no expert but I'm always happy to share what I know. I was floored when the woman ended the conversation by telling me that she has been heavy for 4 or 5 years. Claire recently came across old pictures of me at my parents house. This is second grade. I was morbidly obese by the age of 8. This is a struggle that I endured throughout my life. My weight was slowly killing me. AND, gastric bypass surgery DOES NOT cure obesity. I personally know people who have gained all of their weight back. I had my surgery almost 8 years ago. I can eat a full meal; burger and fries, sandwich and a salad........anything.
