As we were preparing for Halloween, all of the local stores were preparing for Christmas! This time of year seems wished away and rushed and it is really sad. The older I get the more I find myself feeling time rush by. Our children have grown so quickly and I often look around and wonder where time has gone. So many times we get into the routine of daily life and life is passing us by. My Kitten and Darth Vader seem to remind me each day what a precious gift each day is. I can only hope that some day they look back and have fond memories of being young.

The boys are back on the ice! They wait all summer for hockey season. Shane is coaching Jack's team again this year and also playing on a team as well. They both love to be on the ice and seem to come up with excuses to go down to the rink. Jack's team played a full game at the War Memorial this past weekend. It was really neat to see him play on such a big rink. He is just an outstanding defense man! He plays his position like a pro and NOTHING gets by him. I was really amazed at how good he has gotten. He didn't let a single puck past. Grammy thought he should get longer shifts since he was so good. Coach Shane set her straight on that!

As for "the girls" we are doing OK too. Claire is still figure skating this year. She seems to enjoy it even though there is probably no gold metal in her future. She is a huge help in the kitchen these days. She loves to cook and will do just about any task I ask her to do. If there is any egg cracking involved she is "in"! We seem to have "family issues" with touching raw meat; I HATE RAW MEAT. Claire is my official meatball maker. She is actually a great cook and has taken after Mom when it comes to baking as well. Her cookies are top notch. Much like me (and Grandpa as well) she has a sweet tooth. She is already asking for Christmas fudge!
